Ah, if I only knew (statistics)...
Author: Jorge Scheidegger
Most books on statistics tend to be quite indigestible. The rigor of theories and formulas weighs heavily and contributes to the mystification of this science. However, after years of practicing and applying these techniques, the author realized that the essential concepts are simple. A researcher or teacher, no doubt, must master the topic in depth, but a practitioner only needs to know the essential concepts to conduct most of the applications he will do. When in doubt, you can always turn to specialists.
The book covers some of the most widely applied statistical techniques. It covers from very basic descriptive techniques to understand how sets of values behave, to some more powerful predictive techniques used to make sales projections, for example.
No less relevant, the language used in the book seeks a colloquial approach to the reader, avoiding more hermetic expressions, which make understanding difficult. Learning should be synonymous with good humor, and the reader will find some hints of it.
